The
South Devon Railway
'GWR Milk Tank 2016'

The 813 Preservation Fund has just taken delivery of a further wagon for  its extensive collection of preserved Great Western vehicles. But only the  third one to be based at the South Devon Railway. The latest acquisition is a six wheel Great Western Milk Tank No 2016. It was acquired from Immingham where it had previously been in use for the storage of waste oil. 2016 joins another GW milk tank No 3037 which was purchased a few years ago by the South Devon Railway Trust from Bristol Bath Road on the closure of that depot. It is hoped that 2016, which is in really good condition, can be run together with 3037 and the restored BG No 276 to recreate the Hemyock Milk and other familiar sights of years gone by.
