On Saturday 04th July 2015 GWR 0-4-2T 1420, carrying its former Dart Valley Railway name “Bulliver”, left Buckfastleigh on a Gilpin Demolition low loader which could be the last time a steam engine goes to Ashburton from Buckfastleigh.
The low loader was fitted with track and a ramp built by a team of volunteers and full time staff from South Devon Railway Engineering.
The effort was well worth while since the float won first prize in its class.
Following on from this success 1420 then travelled to Newton Abbot to attend their carnival on Saturday 11th July 2015.
