SOUTH DEVON RAILWAY – Winter Gala
11th to 19th February 2017
Are you looking for a great day out this February Half Term?
At the South Devon Railway, we will be running branch line steam hauled trains from a bygone era all week long with between two and up to five engines in steam every day. Add to that the stunning views of the River Dart at this time of year and it’ll be a real treat for the whole family.
This year, we are delighted to welcome two special guest locomotives to add to the home fleet of historic steam engines from the old Great Western Railway.
Our guest locomotioves are GWR Prairie 2-6-2T No 5542 and, from the Bodmin & Wenford Railway and courtesy of the National Railway Museum, London & South Western Railway Beattie Well Tank 2-4-0WT No 30587.
The home fleet, subject to availability, will comprise GWR 0-6-0PT No 1369, GWR 0-6-0 No 3205 and GWR 0-6-0PT No 6412.
The Refreshment Rooms, Expressway Models and the museum at Buckfastleigh will be open everyday.
