The SDR Explorer is taking place on Saturday 26th October 2024, featuring a selection of rare track and haulage opportunities along the South Devon Railway. The whole day excursion will visit sidings and loops, and the home fleet mainline diesel and shunter locomotives will swap around regularly.
Passengers can join at Buckfastleigh (0830 prompt departure) or Totnes Riverside station (0915 prompt departure). There will be Buffet Car on board serving cask and bottled ale, cider and hot and cold drinks, as well as hot food and snacks.
This event is being organised externally as a charity fundraising event. There will be an on train raffle with many great prizes including cab rides and signal box visits plus much more. Proceeds from the day will be donated to The Encephalitis Society, and also to the SDR, who have waived all fees involved with running the train.
The SDR are providing the best booking services as a ticket agent. Tickets can be purchased here and seats will be allocated by the Railway.
