For the first time the Railway's Routemaster 'bus was used to collect, and return afterwards, a number of local members who were attending the annual South Devon Railway dinner. The route started at Buckfastleigh station with pickups at Ashburton, Newton Abbot, Kings Kerswell, Torquay, Paignton and Totnes. Each passenger received a souvenir Gibson ticket for their journey stating which "fare stage" they boarded. The circular journey took just about an hour and appears to have been enjoyed by those who took part. Certainly it is our intention to repeat the exercise next year for which more details will be published with the notice of the dinner.

Everyone had a great time and enjoyed good food |
The evening was themed around the RNLI for whom about £1000 was raised. There was a very good talk on the original creation and activities of the Teignmouth Lifeboat which was re-established in recent years.
