The plan for Totnes (Littlehempston) rolls on. After a little while in the planning the former Cradley Heath Signal Box superstructure has arrived at Buckfastleigh after an exciting journey down the M42 & M5 in pouring rain and a howling gale! The base has already been built at Totnes to receive the building but now the challenge is to get it the last 7 miles! It is expected that it will now need to be taken apart into kit form as the only way to get the structure to Totnes - much the same as when the station buildings were taken to Totnes in the 1980's and subsequently re-erected.
The attached pictures show the Aardvark trailer on which the box was delivered together with the crane hired to lift it off. The second picture shows the box in its temporary position at Buckfastleigh - Buckfastleigh Middle Box maybe?!
