Following on from the successful trial last year to run a First Great Western class 150/1 from Exeter (St. David’s) to Staverton and Buckfastleigh as part of the “Rails and Ales” Gala the Devon Diesel Society have done the same again this year on Saturday 25th August though this time with a 150/2.
The train was well attended and, having made pickups at Exeter (St David’s), Dawlish, Teignmouth, Newton Abbot and Totnes Mainline, there weren't many seats left unfilled.
If you missed out on this special train then please register for our news updates so we can pass on details of future trains, news etc. as soon as they're made available to us.
Please note that John Leonard and Colin Wallace were able to take their pictures near the SDR running line because they are in possession of an SDR PTS and lineside permit. These are available from the SDR main offices at Buckfastleigh. Click here for more information.
