The Staverton Preservation Group are a dedicated band of volunteers from the South Devon Railway Association who look after Staverton Station and its environs.  They are responsible for one of the most picturesque Great Western country stations.
It has been the focus of attention from numerous film and television crews; notably the BBC "Hound of the Baskervilles" with Tom Baker, the series "Lame Ducks" with Loraine Chase, Michael Palin's "Ripping Yarns" humourous series of fictious stories and the series "A Horseman Riding By".

The small crossing signal box is original, though when the line was preserved in the late 1960's a local Vicar had purchased it and had it in his garden as a green house!  A suitable replacement was supplied and the 'box returned to its original task.
